Tis the season! Are you a procrastinator like me? Do you need some unique last minute gifts – that don’t scream “I waited until the last minute!”
Well here is a list to help you out my friend! The store is open from 10-5 today and tomorrow for all your gifty needs.
1. We have lots of fun books on decor, gardening, etc. We also have some beautiful journals that are perfect for sketching or keeping notes.
2. Is there a gardener in your life? These stakes would be a perfect gift!
3.Hopefully you’ve seen our fun pillows and bags from Catstudios. Well they also offer these beautiful dish towels. We have some featuring the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Nebraska and more!
4. Minnesota company. Recycled material. Cool shapes and colors. Functional. Epicurean. If you have that person that is so hard to shop for, try giving them the gift of Epicurean. Everyone we’ve talked to who has used the Epicurean products just falls in love! Myself included!
5. Do you still want to pamper that special someone but are tired of the soaps and candles you always see? Checkout what we have to offer. Beautifully packaged, fantastic scents, and all around great products!
These are just a few of the many gift options we have to offer. We also have beautiful (and warm) blankets and throws, manly bottle openers, fun accessories, colorful pillows and so much more. So grab a coffee and a friend (or both), come to beautiful Downtown Alexandria (it’s not as crowded as those big stores), and check out all we have to offer for those last minute gifts!
Well what can we do with all these lovely new things? Betty and Ruth’s fall selections of furniture, pillows, and accessories from the Las Vegas market are now in the store and they need showing off! Before we rearrange the entire store for the fall season, Jane and I snuck some of the gorgeous pieces into our front window display. I hope you come by and see them – the window display glistens! Wow, all in one place!
Elegant mercury glass accessories and silver lamps (yup, more new pieces) totally inspired us and we really wanted to show them off to the world. Into the window they went along with a sofa, two armchairs, and a darling sofa table. Choosing from all the amazing colors, shapes and sizes of pillows was so much fun.
How about red as an accent color! We love how it pops against the textured neutrals. Sparkling next to the
textures of the lamps and hanging rug are the mercury glass candle holders that inspired us. The pillows on the sofa
also have wonderful textures with felted wool stars and white beaded flora. And that sweet little ottoman!!!
These armchairs are comfy and a perfect size for smaller spaces. Fold-out leaves on the sofa table
make it incredibly useful as an additional casual dining table or desk.
Shiny, shiny mercury glass and silver tones look great placed on natural wicker.
‘Life is Beautiful’ is the etched quote on the glass jar.
Well, we are not quite finished with the window display,
but I think we have made our own good start on a beautiful fall season.
What do you think?
So you heard we were busy? You didn’t? Well check out yesterday’s blog here.
Here is one of the beautiful homes I got to work on for our good friends. They first came to me in the middle of the construction process – plan was selected, walls were up, nothing structural was moving. I helped them select paint colors, flooring, tile, and countertops throughout the house. While I was at the house for the first consultation, we looked at some of the details on the exterior – what color should the windows be? siding color to coordinate? what color for the garage doors? I also did some custom tile pattern design for their master bath walk in shower and the other two baths in the home.
One of the challenges I loved about this home was that they didn’t have an extravagant budget. They are a young family, just like mine, who has to be smart and selective with their money choices. One of the biggest compliments I got was when the homeowner told me that hiring me was one of the best choices they made in their building process. She said I saved her time, headaches and in the end helped make her home feel like home, a beautiful home at that.
Below are pictures of the home right after the Vikingland Builder’s Association Home Tour – 2014. For accessories like this and more, visit Ravnik & Co. in beautiful Downtown Alexandria, MN. And for more pictures of this home and others, check out our Houzz site. The Central Construction, Inc. was the contractor – Jeremy Fuller and Lance Frekking.
So we started this new and exciting blog with the expectations that we would write at least a couple times a week…How’s that going? Sorry to everyone (and I’m sure that’s a lot of people) who have been patiently waiting for our next post.
Our excuse? We’ve been busy! We have been to Las Vegas Market, staged two homes for the Vikingland Builder’s Association Home Tour, and been working on exciting new projects. Please forgive us!
Here is a peek at some of the new items that are coming into the store from market. Again, we ask for your forgiveness. This time for the poor quality cell phone pictures. Didn’t you know? We’ve been busy!
Here are some very fun embroidered pillows. We have a couple different states and some in just black and neutral. There are also cool bags and dishtowels from this company.
The pillows! Oh, the pillows! We have so many new, interesting pillows on the floor (and I think we are getting more yet!) There is texture, color, fun shapes, unique materials, unexpected details, and really something for everyone!
Hot off the truck today, we got fun wicker and rattan pieces. The colors are amazing in person! We tested them all and they are actually pretty comfortable! How fun would the striped chairs be in a dining room?
Last, but not least, we are getting some very cool new light fixtures! Thank you Helen for being my Vanna White!
Trust me, these pictures don’t do these items justice. Make sure to stop in the store and see them in person!
I was reminded by one of my recent interior design graduates that it was time to enter the 21st century. So here I am with the support of the team to write our first blog.
I was pulled begrudgingly to this page but as I reflected on the journey of the business development I realized how very blessed and grateful I am for how Ravnik & Co. got to this point. The 15 year transformation has been slow which allowed us to get wide and deep. The retail component has never been so strong and the interior design side continues to build upon its strengths and relationships. In January I asked Ashley if there was anything she wanted to change about the business? She said for the design studio and retail store to be one, to be a family. Who said the elders have all the wisdom? Thanks to Ashley we have now made the transition to one company, one name and four great designers calling Ravnik and Co. their family. In future blog posts, Ashley and I look forward to sharing projects, design trends and other muses with you. Ruth and Jane are anxious to share the wonderful new items coming into the store. Thank you for listening and we all look forward to you coming back for more. I leave you with my mantra:
Happy, Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy, Joy!
